- install extra fixings to hold down loose sheets and when replacing damaged sheets
- replace fixings with spiral-shanked nails or roofing screws. Do not use smooth-shank nails
- use Class 4 fixings (heavy zinc or zinc-tin coatings or zinc alloy coated heads) when replacing galvanised fixings.
